Material Split - Plugin C4D- Split Object by Materials
Material Split Plugin for Cinema 4D
The Material Split Plugin for Cinema 4D is a powerful tool designed to save you hours of tedious repetitive work by efficiently splitting a polygon object based on its assigned material tags.
Manual cleanup can take hours. Instead of using the Split Command on each selection, this plugin splits the object into sub-objects with a single click. It analyzes the materials and their assigned selections, creating separate objects efficiently.
The plugin is compatible with 2024 version of Cinema 4D.
WARNING:
I got reports of errors on undo/redo functionality, make sure you make a copy of your object before you run the plugin.
Features:
- Splits polygons based on material assignments
- Organize the model inside a null and rename the new parts based on their material
- Removes unused selection tags
- Optimizes and cleans up material tags
- Loading bar on bottom left corner of the UI
Usage & Functionality:
- Select a polygon object with material tags and selection tags .
- The plugin will split a the selected polygon object using the polygon selections tags assigned to the respective materials.
- A null object will be created and all the split parts will be grouped inside and renamed to keep the project tidy.
Case handling :
- Handles the case of empty selections tags by removing them
- Separates duplicate material tags assigned to different polygons selection tags.
- In the case where a polygon selection tag not bounded to a material tag the plugin will split anyway and rename the new part as "unassigned"
- Does not handle cases where a polygon selection tag is bound to multiple material tags.
